Design Concept and Challenges
  1. Located in the San Diego Valley, the hotel and casino is designed to serve as a refuge laguna for local residents.

  2. The design challenge is to create a successful development that will appeal to San Diego visitors while also respecting the culture of the client, the Native American Soboba tribe.

  3. The design concept is to celebrate and center around water and natural springs, an integral part of Soboba culture that was diminished by US land seizes.

  1. The contemporary design integrates important elements to the tribe such as river rocks, playful geysers, waterfalls, and a laguna like setting that is surrounded by luscious planting.

  2. The resort is orientated to take advantage of golf course and mountain views and to establish a strong highway presence that will attract visitors.
